UX/UI Designer

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Web design and branding for all our internal projects on a variety of platforms (web, iPhone and iPad). This will include client engagements where we build traditional web sites, along with some of our own internal products that we develop. We guarantee to keep you busy every second of your work day.
  • User experience design and interaction. You will be responsible for brainstorming ideas, iterating through design, and producing working prototypes for review.
  • Solving new and complex design issues, and looking for ways to improve upon what we currently have.

What we require you know:

  • The ability to recognize whether a design is beautiful or not. We like simple, minimalist designs, and we’re looking for an individual who can recognize and appreciate that in everyday things.
  • Strong HTML/CSS and jQuery skills. You should know your way around Photoshop and have a portfolio to back up those skills.
  • You strive for excellence and quality in everything you do. We’re not looking for perfection, but you should care deeply about the user experience and aim for intuitive products.
  • You are passionate about user testing and attentive to user needs and feedback.
  • We need someone who is a great communicator and can work closely with our developers to produce some stunningly beautiful web sites.
  • You love building websites using emerging technologies, but still know when to use tables.
  • Knowledge of browser idiosyncrasies back through IE6 and fluency in Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
  • Must work out of our North Vancouver offices.

The rest is nice to have:

  • Any experience with Ruby on Rails, or SharePoint Branding is a real plus, but not at all required.
  • Experience with direct marketing.
